Elder Law is a broad term constituting planning for the control, management, access to and preservation of assets during one's life. The planning can be for the benefit of the individual, his or her spouse and/or a structured distribution to the individual's ultimate beneficiaries. It includes Disability Planning and Guardianships, where appropriate. Disability planning is crucial for individuals who already may be suffering from a disability and for individuals who are responsible for the care of a disabled adult and/or child. Guardianships are an important tool for managing the financial affairs and medical decisions of an individual no longer able to do so who has not executed a power of attorney and a living will.

Estate Planning is planning - during one's lifetime - for the management and distribution of one's assets after death. This often includes planning to eliminate or minimize otherwise potentially adverse tax ramifications. Estate planning sometimes requires disability planning and guardianships.

We are committed to assisting families with solutions to their need for planning for the future, for themselves as well as their parents, children or grandchildren.

The guiding principle in every case is to assure prudent protection of a family's assets while striving to preserve the dignity of the elderly, their independence and their ability to control their own lives.

We focus our attention on preserving assets from Estate, Gift and Income Taxes with particular attention to protecting assets from the costs of long term care.

Whether you are concerned with avoiding probate, strategically passing on a business to a family member, the administration of an estate, Medicaid planning or appointing a Guardian for a loved one or for a minor or disabled child, our range of legal expertise will accommodate your particular needs
